Today is devoted to a bus tour which includes Windsor Castle, Bath, and Stonehenge.
We confer over strategy about how to stand in the bus queues.
Barbara and Doretha hold our places while we rest our knees and feet.
Time to climb on board.
We arrive at Windsor. We must follow our tour guide who uses the Union Jack as a marker.
We notice a locomotive on our way to the castle.
We then walk through a retail shopping area.
Here is an exterior view of the castle.
It turns out there is a massive queue. Here is the tail end.
This gives you a true picture. It takes us about an hour to get at the entrance.
We leisurely pass by Windsor Parish Church.
Here is the entrance.
Not done yet. We still have a winding queue ending up at airport style security.
Well, we are into the castle grounds! We still need to follow the guide.
Here are some views from inside the castle.
After taking such a long time in the queue, we only have time to go through the State Apartments. They were interesting, but no photos allowed.
Minimal queue at the State Apartments, so we go on in.
More castle views after going through the State Apartments.
We are now avoiding the queues.
Linda has a tourist shop in here.
Impressive chapel.
Neat gate.
One of the proprietors.
Time to get back to the bus. We manage to locate the retail area.
We are now on the golden path. We just have to climb some stairs.
Here's our bus.
Our driver awaits us.
We paid for lunch, and there it is.
Linda awaits the next leg of our trip. Sadly, one of our party gets lost and we wait an hour, in vain, for her to return. This puts time pressure on us for the rest of the day. It turns out that somebody gave her incorrect (probably maliciously) directions to the bus park. We noticed this happening to somebody else when we were returning and managed to tell them the way. I am beginning to wonder if this is a British sport.
Anyway, it is on to Bath.
