Trip to London

Well, we had a noon flight to Dublin, so we caught the hotel shuttle bus to the airport.

Walking from bus drop off to our terminal.

After we cleared passport control, we had breakfast.

Some good souvenirs were bought while awaiting our flight.

There were no problems with our flight.

We arrived and cleared customs.

We then bought tickets to go by bus to Victoria Station.

We arrive, so the next step is to see how to get to our hotel.

We decide to take a cab. The driver turns down our fare (because it is so close!), but gives us directions on how to walk to get there.

The cab driver has given us the wrong directions! His directions pointed us to the red red: we needed to go the blue dot. I wish I had taken one more picture, one of his registration plate.

Anyway, we have ended up in what is referred to as the "Hollywood" of London. A chauffeur on standby was kind enough to point us into the right direction.

Here's a look at what the "good" side of town looks like.

After we turned around 180 degrees, we were fortunate to run across a mini-cab idling on the side of the road. He accepted our fare, so we put Barbara and Linda and our luggage into the vehicle and sent them on their way.

We all arrived at our destination, Best Western Victoria Palace, within a few minutes of each other.
