Old Thatch Restaurant

Our next tourist destination for the day was Blarney Castle. But on the way we  needed to eat lunch. At about the right time we spotted a restaurant at Killeagh which was a very small village about 20-30 minutes to the East of Cork. Marked by the red balloon on the map.

As usual Doretha is navigating.  By this time we have pretty much given up the GPS as worthless.

We decide that this is a good place to stop. Later, we find out that it has the reputation of being one of the better restaurants in the Republic of Ireland.

We decide to go on in.

Thank goodness for WiFi.

The restaurant had a very attractive interior with good, pleasant service.

The food was considered exceptional by everyone.

The seafood chowder was the best I could ever remember. After I grudgingly gave Linda a spoonfull, she concurred.

Dining at the Old Thatch Restaurant was one of many pleasant dining experiences we had in Ireland.
